Rural PR Firm Secures Leading Cowal Gathering Contract
News Release 22.06.09
SME PR & Event Management firm Pure Shores has announced a positive start to its second year of trading after securing a three month public relations contract with Cowal Highland Gathering, one of the world’s largest highland games events.
Since the very first gathering on 11th August 1894, Cowal Highland Gathering has become a world famous institution and has gone from strength to strength. For decades, Cowal has been a major promoter of highland games, music, dance and tradition and remains a key date in the Highland Dancing and Piping competition calendar. The event, in south Argyll, attracts 3500 competitors from all over the world with many from Scottish communities-in-exile as far flung as Canada and New Zealand.
The event team behind the gathering want to raise awareness of several new elements introduced to this years highland games extravaganza, promoting the event as a day out to day trippers and those on ‘stay-cations’.
Pauline Foster, Company Director for Pure Shores said: “PR activity has now commenced for Cowal Highland Gathering and we are delighted to have been chosen to work with such a well established, world famous event.”
Malcolm Barclay, Event Manager for Cowal Highland Gathering said: “In the current difficult economic climate we were aware of the importance of raising the Gathering’s profile and letting the public see why we stand out amongst other highland gatherings and events in Scotland. We also recognised the need to appoint an experienced and successful PR company to do this on our behalf. Pure Shores PR were recommended to us and a review of their recent work and a meeting with Pauline was enough to assure us that Pauline and Pure Shores PR would be the ideal partner for us. The fact that Pure Shores are a local company with experience in the particular difficulties in staging and promoting major events in the west coast was an added advantage. We are delighted to be supporting and be supported by a local company and we hope this will be the start of a long partnership.”
Based in the scenic holiday destination of Oban on the west coast of Scotland, Pure Shores owner Pauline Foster has had a positive first year of trading, securing and delivering successful projects for new and well established clients who are based in rural and small town areas throughout the region.
Pauline Foster added: “In my first year I have worked with the most interesting people and fascinating event projects, from publicising whisky festivals to organising yachting and castle events. To have secured contracts on this scale is great news when considering the company began just as gloomy economic conditions hit the nation. It is encouraging to see that events and businesses are aware of the importance of marketing during these difficult times. I have recently employed a part time PR & Events Assistant based up in Fort William and I am optimistic about the year ahead.”
